Real Madrid have identified Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite as a target ahead of January, according to CaughtOffside.
The outlet reported via its website on 10 November that Branthwaite is on the Spanish giants’ radar as they look to make defensive reinforcements in January.
Tottenham’s Cristian Romero is also on Madrid’s “extensive” transfer wishlist, with a development for a defender now expected in the January window.

It is no surprise that Branthwaite is attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid as a talented left-footed central defender is hard to come by these days.
Everton, whose well-documented financial struggles put them at a disadvantage, will find it increasingly difficult to retain the 22-year-old’s services.
While the Toffees are not under immediate pressure to sell Branthwaite as he is contracted until 2027, they are not in a position to offer him a new deal to protect his value (Sami Mokbel).
Therefore, there is a high chance that the England international will leave Goodison Park next year, with Manchester United also in the mix for him.

Everton are likely to bag a hefty sum for Branthwaite’s sale and it would help them balance their books and invest in further signings.
As much as supporters would hate to see him depart, it may be the only option the closer he gets to his latest deal expiring.
