Everton ready to hijack rivals to secure brand new transfer - report

Everton are ready to hijack their Premier League rivals Ipswich Town to secure a move for Hull City star Jaden Philogene, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT journalist reported via X on Tuesday (9 July) that the 22-year-old is understood to prefer a move to Goodison Park which has given the Toffees confidence they can hijack the Tractor Boys’ transfer

Crystal Palace are also still interested in bringing Philogene to Selhurst Park but at the moment it appears Everton remain the frontrunner to win the race for his signature and bring him to the Premier League [BBC Sport, 9 July].

It may not have seemed likely only a couple of days ago, but it appears as though Everton have managed to fend off a number of their Premier League rivals to come out on top and secure the signature of one the Championship’s hottest prospects.

Sean Dyche has been eager to add to his wide options this summer having managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League last term and in the 22-year-old he has found an incredibly dynamic and exciting player.

There is an element of risk around this deal as the former Aston Villa man has never played in the Premier League, but anyone who has watched him in action at Hull will know he has the quality to make that step up.

Hopefully, the Toffees will manage to complete this ambitious hijack as it would be a massive statement of intent from everyone involved at Goodison Park if they were able to beat Ipswich and Palace to his signature.

Dyche won’t want to be languishing around the foot of the Premier League again this season and with this signing, he could be taking a huge step away from the relegation zone once again.
