Everton star open to exit now, manager left frustrated - report

Jarrad Branthwaite is “open” to join Manchester United this summer, according to GiveMeSport.

Despite the England international being open to joining the Red Devils, Manchester United are not in a position to “cave in” to the demands of the Toffees.

Sources have shared that Erik Ten Hag was becoming frustrated with the speculation around his future but is now confirmed to be staying with transfer plans to follow.

It goes without saying that this summer, Manchester United need to reinforce their defensive line.

Branthwaite has had a stellar season for the Toffees and was pivotal in them retaining their Premier League status despite their deducted points.

The 21-year-old played 41 times for Everton this term and scored three goals. He has arguably been Sean Dyche’s best player and this is shown by his defensive stats.

As per Sofascore, the towering defender managed to make a total of 1.9 tackles per game in the Premier League and recover a total of 5.2 balls per game.

When compared to Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United, he only managed to make a total of 1.1 tackles per game and only recovered 3.0 balls.

That only proves why Everton will be so desperate to keep him though, and if Manchester United don’t meet their demands, he will be going nowhere.

If the Toffees can keep hold of Branthwaite but also steady the ship financially this summer, it would be amazing given the stress of the last two seasons.
