Everton fans are siding with Man City in their legal battle against the Premier League, with possible financial benefits on the cards.

City have launched legal action against the Premier League, labelling financial rules a “tyranny of the majority” and calling for rules which determine the fair value of commercial deals, to be removed.

This comes while the club has 115 charges for financial breaches hanging over them.

Everton were docked a total of eight points in the recently completed season as a result of their breaches of financial rules, with City now set to challenge the Premier League.

This has led to suggestions that, should the Premier League lose in court, Everton could have grounds to challenge their own punishments.

Returning the eight points to their league tally would see the Toffees shoot up three places to 12th, which would have earned them an additional £12.5million in prize money.

Man City’s case against the Premier League has received mixed reactions from fans across English football, but they have been strongly backed by a number of Evertonians.

Many suggested Everton could enter their own legal battle with the Premier League in an attempt to win back the points and money they would be owed.

Other premier league clubs should sue the premier league and Man City. Everton and Nottingham Forest have already suffered the lopsided decision it took, while the premier league continued to pamper Man City.

However, not all fans shared their sentiment, as many lamented the fact that City could get away without punishment while Everton and Forest were handed points deductions.

It was obvious that Man City were financially doping. But the Premier League sat on it for years, continued to allow state ownership and instead of taking action, threw Everton & Forest under the bus
