Seamus Coleman, Ashley Young and Michael Keane are all likely to leave Everton this summer, according to Graeme Bailey.

The TBR journalist told Everton News that the club will have loftier ambitions than the defensive trio as they move into a new stadium with new owners in charge.

Young, Coleman and Keane all have their deals running out in the summer and they’re unlikely to be at the club next season.

Bailey said: “I think Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman will go at the end of the season.

“On Keane… I imagine Everton hope where they’re going they’re going to seek improvement on Michael Keane. He’s on decent money as well there.

“I’m not sure they’ll be desperate to sit down with him anytime soon. I think they may have loftier aspirations than Keane, Young and Coleman.

“I’d be surprised if those three are still around.”

Everton must get rid of the old guard and replace them with younger players

The club’s decision to potentially part ways with Coleman, Young and Keane aligns with their vision of rejuvenation and improvement as they approach a new era with new ownership and a new stadium.

Coleman, despite his legendary status and leadership, faces the reality of age and injury, making him less reliable for regular first-team action.

Young, at 39, similarly represents a short-term fix rather than a long-term investment, likely necessitating a younger, more dynamic replacement.

Keane’s tenure has been marred by inconsistency and tactical liabilities, often relegating him to a last-resort option under Sean Dyche.

His salary, combined with the need for defensive enhancements, supports the argument for moving on.

This move towards players with higher potential and suitability for Everton’s future ambitions not only refreshes the squad but also reflects a broader strategy of aligning the team with the club’s new identity and competitive aspirations.
