Oli McBurnie is flying out to Spain for talks with Las Palmas today and to finalise his move after leaving Sheffield United, sources have told Football Insider.
McBurnie, 28, was released by Sheffield United at the end of last month following their relegation from the Premier League and now looks set to join the Spanish club.
A deal has already been agreed between the Scottish forward and Las Palmas and the club have booked his medical.
The Scot scored six goals in 23 appearances for Sheffield United last season, most notably a 93rd-minute equaliser against Chelsea in their 2-2 draw.
Sheffield United are going through a major rebuild as they seek promotion back to the Premier League and have already signed Callum O’Hare as revealed by Football Insider (July 15).
Oli McBurnie set for Spanish adventure with Las Palmas
McBurnie joined the Sheffield club from Swansea City back in 2019 and went on to make 159 appearances for the club, scoring 29 goals and providing seven assists.
The striker has also represented his country from Under-19s up to the first team but is yet to score a senior goal.
There have been plenty of departures at Bramall Lane so far this summer. Along with McBurnie, the club have lost Cameron Archer, Jayden Bogle, and Benie Traore among many others.
Las Palmas narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last season, finishing 16th just five points above the drop zone.
In other news, Sheffield Wednesday are front-runners to sign Rangers winger.
