Exclusive: Arsenal closely monitoring ‘outstanding’ Germany international after watching him in Munich

Arsenal will be pleased with their start to the season which has them sitting just one point off the top of the league.

Mikel Arteta will now be seeing his players return from the latest international break with a trip to Bournemouth coming up on the weekend.

It is not all good news for the Gunners with Bukayo Saka having returned to Arsenal early from the England camp through an issue.

But there is still a lot to be optimistic about in north London with Martin Odegaard closing in on his return from his ankle injury.

Despite enjoying a promising start to the campaign, Edu Gaspar is already planning for the upcoming transfer windows at London Colney.

Arsenal monitoring Stuttgart midfielder Jamie Leweling

After an impressive season last time out with Stuttgart, Leweling has been called up to the German national side by Julian Nagelsmann.

And it was a debut to remember for Leweling after he scored the winning goal on Monday night in their game against the Netherlands.

TBR understands Arsenal were in Munich on Monday night to watch Lewling having checked in on the 23-year-old’s displays regularly this season.

Arsenal are not the only Premier League side who are showing an interest in Leweling but the Gunners were also in attendance in Munich to watch Ajax’s Jorrel Hato.

Joshua Kimmich was seriously impressed by Jamie Leweling’s debut

Playing off the left wing, Leweling started the game for Germany and played the large majority of the game coming off after 87 minutes.

And it was a fine display from the 23-year-old who certainly provided the Netherlands backline some issues.

Leweling’s display for his national side also caught the attention of Germany and Bayern Munich regular Joshua Kimmich.

“We’re very happy, we’re very proud of the performance today. Jamie has to be singled out today, not just because of his goal, he put in an outstanding performance,” Kimmich told the media after the game.
