Exclusive: Arsenal would accept 'big' offer for 25-yr-old

Arsenal would accept a “big” offer for Eddie Nketiah this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Nketiah has been linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent months after struggling for minutes in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Sources say the one-cap England international is the most likely player of Arsenal’s homegrown stars to leave once the transfer window reopens.

Football Insider previously revealed Wolves, Brentford and Crystal Palace are interested in signing the 25-year-old as they look to add some extra firepower this summer.

The north London club don’t want to damage their homegrown quota for the Premier League and Champions League next season.

But Nketiah is considered a fringe player and a permanent sale is viewed as a way to help Arsenal boost their transfer kitty for any new arrivals despite his contract running until 2027.

Nketiah saw his minutes in the side dramatically reduced last season following the big-money arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

The Lewisham-born striker started in just 13 of his 37 appearances across the campaign, where he registered six goals and three assists.

Arsenal are now willing to offload the Englishman if a reasonable bid is made for his services after he’s spent the past nine years at the Emirates.

Arteta’s top priority is to bring a new forward to north London this summer after his side fell short in their bid to claim the Premier League title last season.

Football Insider revealed last month the club are plotting a move to sign RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko after he’s impressed in the Bundesliga.
