Exclusive: Celtic would accept £25m offer

Celtic will demand upwards of £25million to consider letting Kyogo Furuhashi leave the club this summer amid links with a move to England.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that this summer would be the last opportunity for Kyogo to make a big move, but Celtic have no plans to let him go.

The Japan international, 29, is under contract at Parkhead until 2027, having signed a new contract last summer to deter interest from south of the border.

Brendan Rodgers wants to keep Kyogo in his squad as he plans to be competitive in the Champions League and would be reluctant to see him leave.

Sources also say the forward is looking forward to playing in the Champions League and has no desire to move on this summer.

Celtic signed Kyogo for just £4.5million in a deal with Japanese side Vissel Kobe in 2021, with the forward going on to make 133 appearances for the club and counting.

In that time, he has scored 73 goals and provided 15 assists, winning three SPFL titles, two Scottish Cups, two Scottish League Cups as well as the golden boot in 2022-23, when he also won Player of the Year.

His outstanding performances since arriving at Parkhead have made him a fan favourite and a mainstay in the team under both Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers.

19 goals and five assists in 50 appearances last season helped Celtic win yet another league title and the Scottish Cup, pipping Old Firm rivals Rangers to both trophies.

Now aged 29, Kyogo remains happy at Parkhead and will not be leaving the club this summer unless the club receives an offer they cannot refuse.

Koyogo’s role in Rodgers’ squad has made him a key man ahead of the upcoming Champions League campaign, with the manager looking to make amends for the embarrassment last time out.
