Crysencio Summerville: Leeds 'will do amazing' if £40m deal agreed

Leeds United would be doing “amazing” business if clubs meet their £40million asking price for Crysencio Summerville.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Scotland defender Alan Hutton explained that, even if the price was slightly lower than £40million, Leeds would be able to reinvest in their squad and improve ahead of next season.

Summerville, 23, has been heavily linked with an exit after Football Insider revealed that he has told Leeds he will be leaving Elland Road this summer.

His performances in the Championship where he recorded 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 games, earning him the Player of the Season award, has attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool.

Following their defeat in the playoff final, Leeds are expecting several first-team exits as players move on to play top-division football.

Hutton insisted the winger is ready to take the step up into Premier League football and will want to take on a new challenge.

“It would be amazing business if they could get £40million for him,” he told Football Insider.

“I don’t think the price will be too far off that. We’re talking high twenty, into the thirties.

“He’s had an unbelievable season and he’s got everything it takes to make it in the Premier League, and a number of clubs will be monitoring his situation.

“He is probably going to leave in the summer for a new challenge.

“It’ll be a lot of money coming in which will let Leeds go and reshape their squad how they want to.”
