Exclusive: How Barcelona have responded to reports that Arsenal are scouting El Clasico superstar

In the past, Barcelona have made a habit of cherry picking Arsenal’s best talent, a huge frustration towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s tenure.

The names of Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas immediately spring to mind, two superstars whom Arsenal lost to the Nou Camp.

Of course, it’s not too often that Arsenal are able to look at Barcelona players in return, and their interest in Lamine Yamal is perhaps a sign of the times.

Arsenal are on the rise and Barcelona continue to struggle financially, meaning you’d never worry about Bukayo Saka making the switch to La Liga these days.

That being said, TBR Football understands that Barcelona have completely dismissed any idea of Yamal leaving the club.

Arsenal told they’ve got no chance of signing Lamine Yamal from Barcelona

Recent reports have claimed that 17-year-old superstar Yamal is being watched by Arsenal and Liverpool, who could be sacrificed by the Catalan giants if their financial situation is not fully sorted.

However, TBR has been told by Barcelona sources that talk of Yamal’s future being in doubt is ‘totally untrue’.

Barcelona are confident that the club’s finances are very much moving in the right direction, meaning there won’t be any difficult decision to make.

The club believe that the rebuild of the Camp Nou will spearhead them into firm financial footing, and they understandably have absolutely no intention of letting Yamal leave.

Yamal, for his part, has spoken recently about never wanting to leave the club.

Barcelona are of the same opinion – they see him as central to their future over the next decade along with fellow La Masia graduates Gavi and Pedri.

Arsenal seeking new forward amid Leandro Trossard disappointment

Even with Yamal off-limits, it seems logical that Arsenal will continue to seek a new offensive signing for the 2025/26 season.

Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal form has been criticised of late, a player who made a vital error during the loss to Bournemouth.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal intend to sign Raheem Sterling permanently from Chelsea next summer, but that currently seems unlikely to be the case.

Chelsea paid a huge fee to recruit Sterling from Manchester City, and it seems unlikely that Arsenal would be willing to part with significant money for a player used as backup.

Sterling hasn’t enjoyed a ton of opportunities since arriving at the Emirates Stadium, but it’s already clear that he’s not someone who’s going to raise the bar at Arsenal.
