Hull City boss Tim Walter is under pressure after picking up just three points from their opening five games, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 49-year-old is already in danger of losing his job despite only joining Hull in July.
The Yorkshire club are without a win so far this season, sitting in the relegation zone with three draws and two defeats under their belt.
Walter’s side have just suffered two consecutive 2-0 defeats to promotion hopefuls Leeds United and Sheffield United as they prepare to face Narcis Pelach and Stoke City on Friday (September 20).
Tim Walters in Hull City firing line
The German manager joined the club, replacing sacked Liam Rosenior, after relatively successful spells at Stuttgart and Hamburg.
It was a summer of upheaval in Hull, key players Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene left for the bright lights of the Premier League, with the club raking in a collective £33million for the two players.
A healthy chunk of that money was re-invested into the squad by owner Acun Ilicali, with the club spending £20.3million on 16 new players.
Walter’s side will be hoping Stoke’s ‘new manager bounce’ is nonexistent with the German facing an uphill battle to turn things around.
In other news, Rangers and Coventry City race to sign Cyrus Christie.
