Ipswich Town are in advanced talks with West Brom over a deal to sign Tom Fellows, sources have told Football Insider.
The two clubs are locked in talks over a deal worth £11million, and are edging closer to a full agreement for the winger.
Should an agreement be reached, he will travel to the club’s training ground to undergo medical checks and complete formalities before Friday’s (30 August) 11pm deadline.
Football Insider revealed in November that clubs in Europe were plotting a swoop before he signed a new deal at The Hawthorns in January.
However, interest in his signature has renewed this summer and Ipswich have moved quickly to beat rivals to a late deal.
Following their promotion to the Premier League, Kieran McKenna’s side have utilised the transfer market to bolster their squad and give themselves a chance at staying up.

Fellows joined West Brom at Under-10s level before progressing through the academy and cementing himself as a key player in Carlos Corberan’s side.
He experienced a breakthrough year at The Hawthorns last time out as he featured 39 times, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
His impressive form has carried over into the new season as he has now recorded three assists in his first three games this season.
That form has attracted attention from multiple Premier League outfits, including Everton who had been tracking his progress since January.
However, Ipswich have moved quickly to beat off rivals to his signature as their summer spending spree looks set to continue.
Recruiting top talents from the Championship has been a key feature of the Tractor Boys’ window, and they are now pushing for Fellows to become their latest addition.
He is set to join Jacob Greaves, Jack Clarke, Dara O’Shea, Sammie Szmodics, Arijanet Muric, Chiedozie Ogbene and Conor Townsend in making the step up from the second tier.
In other news, multiple Championship clubs are pushing to sign George Edmundson.
