TBR Football can exclusively reveal that the Saudi Pro League are continuing to show an interest in signing Marcus Rashford and the forward made his stance over a move to the Middle East very clear.
The 27-year-old’s future has been left in doubt with Ruben Amorim omitting him from Manchester United’s squad for the 2-0 win over Man City.
Rashford has been told it’s time to leave United by Jamie Carragher who has questioned whether the player is even good enough to be considered a starter for Amorim’s team.
Marcus Rashford’s stance over Saudi Pro League move
TBR Football‘s football correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that Marcus Rashford has made it clear that he is not keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Pro League first expressed an interest in the Manchester United star back in the summer and they are continuing to monitor his situation with the January transfer window approaching.
Amorim’s decision to leave him out of the squad for Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Man City was one of the big talking points from the match and will only intensify talks regarding the winger’s potential departure.
Amorim is willing to give every player the chance to impress him following his arrival, but the 27-year-old now has a lot of work to do in order to get back in the manager’s good books.
For now, Rashford’s future at Old Trafford remains undecided sources have confirmed to TBR Football, but that has been the case since the summer when the Saudis first showed an interest in him.
Rashford refused to entertain their interest then, and we are told it is a similar situation. Paris Saint-Germain have also been long-term admirers of Rashford but their interest has disappeared since the arrival of Luis Campos as their Football Advisor.
Does Marcus Rashford have any other transfer options?
TBR Football can also share that the big issue facing Rashford is that there is currently no interest from European clubs who are capable of paying his staggering £400,000-a-week wages.
Therefore, Saudi is Rashford’s only likely landing spot and we can confirm the Pro League retain an active interest in him. Sources also explain why wouldn’t they continue to look at the England international when they remain his only active destination.
However, there is one stumbling block which is the the League’s insistence that any possible transfer target must show a willingness to make the move to the Middle East and as it stands that is a major problem.
Rashford is showing no desire to make that move, and indeed we are told the player remains convinced he can still have a future at his boyhood club – even if the club are doubtful that is the case.
