Expert View: Tottenham work in background to finalise exit for 28y/o before 30 Aug

John Wenham believes Tottenham are working hard behind the scenes to secure a summer transfer exit for Giovani Lo Celso.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the emergence of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall has opened the door for Lo Celso to move on.

Gray and Bergvall have both featured heavily for Ange Postecoglou during Spurs’ pre-season preparations.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is hopeful that a brand-new club can be found for Lo Celso.

“Gray and Bergvall are two players who I think will make a real impact on the squad,” Wenham said.

“That further supports the view that there are other players who can still be moved on.

“Lo Celso is one of those players, although there doesn’t seem to be any links at the moment. However, I would imagine the club are working hard in the background to make something happen.

“He is just one of a few players who can still be moved on.”

It just doesn’t seem as if Lo Celso is destined to be a Tottenham player.

Although the 28-year-old showed moments of promise last season, and in some ways can be the perfect midfielder for Postecoglou, he is not available consistently enough.

He has had five years to prove that he has what it takes to make it in the Premier League. Unfortunately, he has yet to do that.

Therefore, now would be the time for Tottenham to move on a player who perhaps should have already been sold a long time ago.
