Fabrizio Romano has shared evening transfer update on Riccardo Calafiori

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are just three of the clubs that have been linked with Riccardo Calafiori in recent weeks.

The Gunners, the Reds and the Lilywhites are all likely to be busy in the coming weeks as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

Arsenal have improved with each passing season under Mikel Arteta and will be desperate to win the Premier League title as reward for their progress.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be eager to build on Jurgen Klopp’s fruitful tenure at Anfield and hit the ground running under Arne Slot.

As for Tottenham, they will look to kick on after a decent season under Ange Postecoglou, with a Premier League top-four finish in their sights.

Arsenal are said to be in the mix for Calafiori, while Liverpool are also apparently looking at him and Spurs have been linked with a move for months.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the Bologna ace which involves Arsenal and fellow suitors Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have explored Riccardo Calafiori deal conditions

The transfer insider, writing on X, said both the Gunners and the Blues have explored the conditions of a potential deal for Calafiori, and both remain interested.

However, a deal is said to be expensive as FC Basel will get close to half of the transfer fee.

Juventus are also in the running for Calafiori, and the player has reportedly given the green light to a Turin move, though Bologna would prefer to sell abroad.

Premier League clubs will be optimistic of sealing Calafiori deal

Liverpool and Arsenal will certainly fancy their chances of signing Calafiori over the coming weeks.

The Reds and the Gunners were in Premier League title contention last season, and they’ll be eager to challenge once again.

Although Spurs are on the up under Postecoglou and will hope to be in top-four contention next term, Calafiori is apparently not too keen on joining them.

According to Football Italia, Bologna have placed a €40-50million (£34-43million) price tag on their asset, who Romano has deemed “one of the best in the world”.

The Calafiori transfer saga is likely to pick up pace in the coming days and weeks now that Italy are out of Euro 2024.
