FCSB now desperate as plane fails to arrive for Rangers showdown - report

FCSB are “desperately” looking for alternatives after their plane to Scotland did not arrive ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with Rangers, GSP reports.

The Romanian champions were supposed to take off at 9:00 am BST, but the sports outlet reported via its website (Wednesday, 23 October) that their scheduled plane failed to turn up due to a “technical failure”.

This is after the departure had already been delayed by two hours. FCSB are now left in an “uncertain” situation as they scramble for a charter flight.

FCSB suffer major setback ahead of Rangers clash

This is a major blow for FCSB are it is now uncertain when they will be able to arrive in Glasgow ahead of their match with Rangers.

The game is scheduled to kick off at Ibrox at 8:00 pm BST [24 October] in under 36 hours and the delay will hinder the Romanian outfit’s preparations for it.

It is perhaps a positive for Rangers, who are looking to bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday (20 October), as this issue may also affect their opponents mentally.

On top of that, it has already been teased that the travelling side will also field a weakened side to try and improve their domestic fortunes back in Romania [Emanuel Rosu].

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds, with aircraft not exactly easy to sort out at the last minute ahead of the Ibrox showdown.

Hopefully, this doesn’t affect the game with just over 24 hours to go.
