'What?' - Gabby Agbonlahor shares Rangers verdict live on air, Ally McCoist reacts: 'Agony'

Gabby Agbonlahor believes Rangers are no longer guaranteed to win after being shocked by the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock on Sunday (20 October).

Philippe Clement’s side were condemned to an unexpected defeat at Rugby Park, missing the chance to close the gap on Celtic and Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Instead, the Gers are one point above Dundee United and six points behind the top two teams in the division, having already recorded their second league defeat of the season.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Wednesday (23 October, 7:54am), Agbonlahor said: “I switched the game on, it was the 83rd minute and Rangers are losing… What?” to which Ally McCoist replied: “Agony. Agony.”

Agbonlahor continued: “Before, it was guaranteed that Rangers would win, Celtic win, Rangers win, Celtic win. Now, Rangers aren’t guaranteed to win.”

Rangers miss golden chance to close gap on Celtic & Aberdeen

Clement is under immense pressure to turn things around at Ibrox, but after the 1-0 defeat at Rugby Park, there are clear issues on show with the Light Blues.

Many are already ruling the Gers out of the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership title race, with Celtic and Aberdeen racing into a six-point lead and leaving the Light Blues in their dust.

Of course, Clement’s side still have a chance to impress on the European stage and all eyes will be on the clash against Romanian side FCSB, but fans cannot help but focus on facing the Dons.

Rangers’ clash against Aberdeen on Wednesday 30 October has already been marked as a chance for Clement to be sacked, but the decision already looks to be made on his tenure.

There is a clear “gulf” between the Old Firm rivals, one which only looks to be enlarging, and Clement must prove himself if the Ibrox fans are to begin believing in him again.
