Finance Expert hails new Dan Friedkin move ahead of Everton takeover

Dan Plumley has hailed Dan Friedkin after his latest move during the process of completing his takeover of Everton Football Club.

The American is said to have offered a stake in negotiations to Andy Bell and George Downing to get them on board with his takeover [Alan Nixon].

The football finance expert called it a “really smart move” by Friedkin, who could get credibility and power in the fan base instantly at Goodison Park.

“I think it is a really smart move if it plays out that way,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“If you look at the angle of who they are and we were led to believe that they wanted to take over the club themselves but that never happened, but it gives you credibility and power in the fan base.

“If you bring those two people on, it looks good to the fans of the club, because they are fans of the club as well so that is a smart move in terms of building that relationship with the fans in the early stages.

“I also think it’s a smart move if you have got money that is outstanding and owed to them, that can become part of negotiations to give them a say in the club as well at the very top level.

“I think you are winning on both fronts there, so if it does play out like that, it’s a very shrewd move by Friedkin in the early phases.”

Dan Friedkin set to complete Everton takeover

All fans have ever wanted at Goodison Park is an owner who can make sensible decisions, something that Farhad Moshiri has rarely done.

With formal confirmation that Friedkin has repaid loans to Bell and Downing on Thursday 18 July [The Esk], this move just shows it is about the club and not the money for Friedkin.

That is another tick in the box for the American, who could be in charge very shortly.
