Rangers could bank good value from selling Cyriel Dessers in the upcoming January transfer window, Dan Plumley has said.
It is said that the Nigerian international is valued at £3.3million, with St Etienne interested in making a move next month [Le Republican Sportif].
Plumley, a football finance expert, admits that the Bears will have a selling value in mind, after a turbulent summer of many sales at Ibrox.
“On the face of it, it looks a good value,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“Rangers, of course, will have their own value on his head, you have to look at where his contract is at, we know how amortisation works.
“He will have a book value to Rangers and they will have a sell-on value that they will expect, so it’s always a case of negotiations.
Rangers to sell Cyriel Dessers?
“That, to me, seems like a number you can get as there or there about as good value if he is to move on.”
After losing his spot and the drama behind him not taking a penalty in the Scottish League Cup final defeat to Celtic, the only way appears out right now.
Nils Koppen is set for a busy month, but with Patrick Stewart and Fraser Thornton in place, things are looking rosier in the boardroom at Ibrox.
Whether that leads to significant business in January, time will tell but it could certainly be needed if more follow Dessers out of the door as expected.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement’s transfer stance has been revealed.
