'For the first time in many years...' - The Esk reacts to fresh Everton takeover news

Everton could soon announce that potential new owners have entered a period of exclusivity with Farhad Moshiri in a move which has left The Esk thrilled.

The Athletic has reported (7 June) that “details are being closely guarded” but at last it appears there is some light at the end of the tunnel for the Toffees.

A “new group” is now set to enter “exclusive negotiations” with the Moshiri but it is unclear who this could be right now.

It is safe to say this is some news that will excite Everton fans and this has been shown by Blues finance expert The Esk, who has taken to X to share his joy.

They said: “For the first time in many years (possibly decades) we might be steering the Everton ship away from the rocks not steaming at full speed towards them.”

Although nothing is official or confirmed yet it is clear that supporters are breathing a sigh of relief after a difficult few years.

New owners set for Everton takeover

Talks had been ongoing throughout the season with 777 Partners in a deal which certainly had plenty of people concerned.

Fans were left relieved when Moshiri pulled the plug on any potential deal after the group showed financial problems of their own.

There were other links to various parties before John Textor showed interest despite already having shares in Crystal Palace.

Before he can make a move for the Toffees, he would have to sell his stake in the Eagles so it appears unlikely the prospective new owners involve him.

Although these links to new owners are currently faceless, there is likely to be an announcement imminently to put a name on the rumours.

Moshiri has had his issues and has caused some of them by his own work but he must be commended for his pursuit of new owners at Goodison Park.

He has searched for what he sees as the right people to take over from him although any respect the fans had ended with a desperate attempt to sell to 777 Partners.

It now appears as if he has found new owners in a positive day for Everton and their supporters.
