Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has suggested Leeds United could seek a replacement for Daniel Farke during the next international break.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the October international break sees “the most movement” for managers “in his experience”.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (18 September) that Farke’s Leeds job is safe for now with club chiefs not ready to end his reign.

However, the German is under pressure at Elland Road after picking up just eight points from the Whites’ opening five games.

Leeds face Cardiff, Coventry, Norwich and Sunderland in the games running up to next month’s international break.

Leeds could replace Farke in October international break, says Wyness

Farke fell short in the quest for promotion last term after losing out to Southampton in the Championship playoff final.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “In my experience, at the start of the season, there are two international breaks.

“It’s normally the second one where you see the most movement.

“There’s a bad start to the season, the owners think they’ll make a move – and the new guy gets an extra week of international break to bed in.

“Expect some big moves in the next international break if Farke hasn’t turned it around.”
