Jesurun Rak-Sakyi favours a move to Southampton over Leeds United this summer after the Saints made a move to sign him from Crystal Palace.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is very well-connected at his for former club, revealed that United are interested in a loan move but have been put off by the player’s preference.
The Saints have already seen a £7million bid rejected by Palace, and are expected to return to the table with an improved offer of around £12million.
However, sources have told Robinson the Eagles are not keen on seeing their star academy graduate leave on a permanent deal and would prefer him to go on loan.
This comes shortly after Football Insider revealed that Leeds are considering making a move this summer amid uncertainty over Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto’s futures.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner is willing to allow Rak-Sakyi to go out on loan this season to further develop his game with regular football away from Selhurst Park.
Robinson, however, insisted that Leeds had been deterred from making a move given the winger’s preference to play for the Saints.
Southampton pipped Leeds to promotion last season in the playoff final, with their new-found Premier League status placing them higher in the food chain.
“From what I’m hearing from Leeds, it would be a loan deal,” he told Football Insider.
“I think that’s one the club will be looking to do, but they’ve been pushed away a little bit because I’m hearing the player’s preference is Southampton.
“Obviously, they’ve come in for a permanent deal but may also be looking to bring him in on loan [if they can’t reach an agreement with Palace].
“It will be hard for Leeds to make a move at this stage to get ahead of them as I’ve heard Rak-Sakyi would prefer the move to Southampton.”
In other news, Brighton are readying a new move to sign Georginio Rutter.
