Radu Dragusin’s agent making “noises” could be the reason for the defender being linked with a move away from Tottenham in January, Paul Robinson has said.
The 22-year-old has only started three Premier League matches so far this season, the last two due to Micky van de Ven’s injury, and has now been linked with a move to Juventus [La Gazzetta dello Sport].
While the transfer stories appear to be piling up outside Hotspur Way, especially from Serie A with Napoli also credited with interest [Sunday Mirror], Robinson has put these down to the player’s agent making noise.
“Agents do that, players do that. They can get noises out there via various means, and now with the number of media outlets, it only takes one story for you to plant an acorn and soon you’ve got an oak tree” he said exclusively to Tottenham News.
“I don’t think Tottenham do any deals for Dragusin in January, loan or permanent. He’s only just signed and Spurs fans haven’t seen the best of him yet. He will get a run of games with Romero and van de Ven’s injury and disciplinary records.
“He’ll be frustrated with the lack of game time but there is no way that Spurs will let him go in January.”
Radu Dragusin to remain at Tottenham despite links with January exit?
Considering how light Ange Postecoglou is in defence, with van de Ven now sidelined and Romero often a livewire on the pitch, it would be a foolish decision to allow Dragusin to leave.
Every player wants to chance to prove themself on the pitch, and while the Romanian has largely failed to impress in the starting XI, he clearly still has the backing of some at Hotspur Way.
If he were to leave during the January window, Spurs would certainly need to sign another new face to help reinforce the back line for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign.
In other Tottenham news, a stance on Ange Postecoglou’s sacking has been shared following the Ipswich Town defeat.
