'He wouldn't cost crazy money' - King View: Club could accept £30m for Tottenham-linked ace

Bryan King expects Fulham to demand at least £30million for Tottenham target Joachim Andersen.

The ex-Spurs scout believes there would be opportunities for the centre-back to play in North London.

As reported by CaughtOffside (19 November), Tottenham, Juventus and Liverpool are all interested in Andersen. The Denmark international was signed by Fulham from Crystal Palace for £30million this past summer, penning a five-year deal at Craven Cottage (via BBC Sport, 23 August).

Therefore, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Marco Silva’s side would at least want their money back if they were to sell the 28-year-old.

“Andersen has done well in the Premier League,” King said.

“He isn’t necessarily a big-name star. However, he is a solid defender who has proven himself with two clubs that aren’t high profile, as such.

“For Spurs, as a squad member, there would be opportunities to play as the two centre-backs seem to pick up injuries quite often. He wouldn’t cost crazy money, but Fulham would at least want the £30million they paid for him back.”

Tottenham to sign Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen?

Andersen is an experienced Premier League centre-back who is good on the ball. Therefore, he could fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system at Spurs seamlessly.

Cristian Romero is constantly being linked with a move away from Tottenham. Therefore, that could explain why the North London club are in the market for a brand-new defender.

Romero is one of Spurs’ top-two centre-backs. As a result, if he were to leave the club, he would need replacing, especially with question marks over the club’s current third-choice, Radu Drăgușin.

However, only time will tell if Romero leaves, and if Andersen is consequently signed as his replacement.

In other Tottenham news, Archie Gray’s chance of returning to Leeds United on loan have been mooted.
