Chelsea against Arsenal is always a big fixture but tomorrow’s clash seems to feel that bit bigger thanks to the resurgence of the Blues under Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea have done well under Maresca since he took charge and are even above Arsenal in the table.
For Arsenal, it’s all about getting back to winning ways after a poor run has threatened to scupper their season completely.
And after Troy Deeney suggested that Arsenal will easily beat Chelsea, former Arsenal man Ray Parlour has now made his prediction.
Ray Parlour disagrees with Troy Deeney’s Chelsea v Arsenal prediction
Speaking about the upcoming clash on TalkSPORT with Alan Brazil, Arsenal fan and club legend Parlour insisted that this will be tougher than expected for the Gunners.
“Well, this is a real big game. Look, Chelsea are really doing well at the moment, fourth and above Arsenal on goal difference, but going to Stamford Bridge is always a daunting place to go. Good form. Eight goals last night,” Parlour said on Friday’s edition of TalkSPORT Breakfast.
“Got lots of confidence at the moment, Chelsea. I really like Maresca, what he has done so far for the team. Palmer’s a big, whether he is going to play or not, we will have to wait and see.
“Odegaard is a massive boost for Arsenal. I am going to go, I really hope Arsenal can win, but I am going to go 1-1. I am going to go 1-1. Goal scorer – let’s go, he was quiet the other day, Saka, so let’s go Saka. 1-1.”
Arsenal have to beat Chelsea
There is no other way around this for Arsenal. They simply have to go to Chelsea and get the win.
A failure to do so will be catastrophic, especially with – at the time of writing – Man City and Liverpool both having chances to pull further clear on Saturday evening.
Mikel Arteta will be after a big response from his team who have frankly been well off it in recent weeks.
Martin Odegaard is indeed a big boost but they’ll need others to step up as well.
