Kevin Malone is “seriously evaluating” an Everton takeover bid, as per Ben Jacobs.

The journalist shared via X on Wednesday (24 July) what Malone had told him.

Jacobs wrote, “Malone tells me a decision will be made soon on whether to bid again for Everton.”

According to Jacobs, Malone said, “All I can say at this time, is that our investor group is seriously evaluating the Everton opportunity.”

As reported by Alan Myers via X (22 July), a consortium headed by the ex-LA Dodgers General Manager will make a takeover bid for the Toffees in the coming weeks.

All signs point toward Malone and his US-based consortium making a bid to purchase Everton.

Myers is usually spot on when it comes to the latest at Goodison Park. Therefore, supporters would have already been feeling optimistic when he revealed that a takeover bid was expected.

And now that Malone has spoken out on the matter himself, that optimism is likely to have reached new heights.

After the dramatic collapse of the Friedkin Group’s prospective takeover at Goodison Park fans will be desperate for any update on the matter.

It has been a miserable few years for Everton and brand-new owners are desperately needed.

Whether or not Malone and his US-based consortium are the right fit remains to be seen. However, those connected with the Toffees will likely take anything they can get at this point.

After seeing two takeover attempts collapse, the club cannot afford a third offer to lead to nothing.
