Ian Wright and William Saliba left blown away by £6m Arsenal star in 4-2 win over Leicester

Arsenal certainly made their supporters at the Emirates Stadium sweat on Saturday against Leicester City, surrendering a 2-0 lead which looked to be a foregone conclusion.

However, with Leicester City’s James Justin delivering a Cafu like performance in the second half, Arsenal had to show similar spirit to their win against Bournemouth in N5 two seasons ago.

On this occasion, it was Leandro Trossard who won the three points, even if his strike eventually was awarded as a Wilfried Ndidi own goal.

But with Manchester City dropping points away to Newcastle United, Mikel Arteta’s side couldn’t waste their opportunity, and their late win was very well received.

Gabriel Martinelli back to his best for Arsenal during late Leicester win

Theo Walcott was impressed with Ethan Nwaneri off of the bench, an excellent cameo which showcased all of his exciting potential.

However, in terms of players who made an impact from the start, there were very few better than Gabriel Martinelli who seems to be back to his best.

Martinelli was excellent against Man City last weekend, providing the assist for Riccardo Calafiori’s first Arsenal goal.

And it was the Brazilian who opened the scoring on this occasion, the £6m winger was immediately causing the visiting defence problems.

That being said, Martinelli took to Instagram after the game to celebrate with his teammates and fans.

Martinelli posted four photos from the 4-2 win alongside a caption of: “Till the very end. I will always fight for this badge. Thank you for your support Gooners.”

Evidently delighted to see the Brazilian back to his best, a host of Arsenal players and faces replied, including Ian Wright and William Saliba.

Arsenal able to overcome James Justin’s remarkable brace

Of course, with Martin Odegaard still missing for the foreseeable future, Martinelli’s return to form is incredibly timely.

Arsenal have two more home games Arteta will be looking to win before the upcoming international break.

And as well as the temptation to lean on Nwaneri in midfield, who is evidently ready to start, the Arsenal manager will also now be looking to Martinelli to drag his team through.

The Brazilian was excellent in the Champions League last term and will perhaps relish the challenge of facing Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

That being said, Kevin Nolan was amazed by a different Arsenal player on Saturday, saying he’s taken the Gunners to a new level.
