Ibrox View: Rangers appear to be blown out of water as Liverpool player set to seal £10m exit

Rangers and Celtic are set to miss out on the services of Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark who will join RB Salzburg, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The news outlet reported on 18 August that the Reds had accepted a £10million bid for the 19-year-old who’s already agreed personal terms with the Austrian club.

Gers and Celtic were both keen on signing the Englishman, as per the Liverpool Echo journalist Paul Gorst.

Rangers could not have afforded Bobby Clark’s services

The £10million fee is a figure that was already beyond the Ibrox outfit’s financial reach.

This transfer not only highlights the competitive nature of the transfer market but also underscores the financial disparities between clubs like Rangers and those with deeper pockets like Salzburg, backed by the Red Bull empire.

Gers will now need to pivot towards more affordable alternatives, focusing on players who can offer similar potential but at a price that aligns with their budget constraints.

The situation serves as a reminder of the challenges smaller clubs face when vying for promising talents against wealthier competitors, pushing the Ibrox outfit to scout for hidden gems or players available at lower costs due to various club circumstances, ensuring they can still strengthen their squad without overshooting their financial limits.

They will be delighted that Celtic aren’t the ones signing the 19-year-old as it would strengthen a direct rival which is already in better shape to win the league.

In other Rangers news, the club are now sparking a bidding war to sell a first-team player for more money before the transfer deadline.
