Chelsea have had a really bright start to this Premier League season.
The Blues have been something of a circus in recent times, but, somehow, Enzo Maresca seems to have stabilised the ship at Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer has been in incredible form this season, and perhaps the unsung hero in the Premier League so far this term has been Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson has proven a lot of people wrong this season, and his stock is certainly on the rise after a bright start to this term.
The Senegalese striker has been banging in the goals all season long, and speaking on the Planet Premier League Podcast, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has made a claim about the forward.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Nicolas Jackson could be worth a fortune
Hasselbaink was full of praise for Jackson.
The pundit says that Jackson is the fourth-best striker in the Premier League after Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Ollie Watkins.
Meanwhile, Hasselbaink also said that if Jackson keeps improving, he could ultimately be worth a fortune.
“Look, if you look in the Premier League, who are the top strikers? You have Haaland, you have for me, Isak, who’s having a difficult time at the moment. But I really rate him,” Hasselbaink said.
You have Watkins, you know, and then I would say, you have Jackson, you know, and those four are really the top strikers at the moment. Jackson is young, 23, has not played Champions League football yet. Last year, he struggled at times with his chances, but he’s getting better.
But there’s still so much that he can improve at, especially if it’s back to the goal, with his duels, where he can just make it a little bit more simpler for himself. When crosses go in the box, I think his movement in the box can be better, coming across centre halves and stuff, instead of just waiting at the second post. But yeah, if he keeps on improving, he’s going to be worth a lot of money.”
How much could Nicolas Jackson be worth?
Hasselbaink says that Jackson could end up being worth a fortune, and you’d already say he’s worth way more than the £32m Chelsea paid for him.
Jackson is just 23 years old, so he has tons of potential, which all adds to his value, while his return of 14 Premier League goals last season was very solid indeed.
In comparison, Rasmus Hojlund got a move worth £72m to Manchester United after a nine-goal season for Atalanta in Serie A, which is a weaker league.
Jackson has kicked on this season, and he’s up there with the top scorers in the Premier League.
Premier League top scorers 2024/25* Goals 1. Erling Haaland 11 2.Bryan Mbeumo 8 3. Cole Palmer/Chris Wood 7 5. Nicolas Jackson/Mohamed Salah/Danny Welbeck 6
Jackson is keeping good company in the goalscoring charts at the moment, and given his age and how valuable top-class strikers are these days, it’s not ridiculous to suggest the Chelsea ace could be considered a £100m player one day.
