'I'm told': David Ornstein shares how Trent Alexander-Arnold is behaving behind the scenes amid Real Madrid saga

Liverpool, Real Madrid and Trent Alexander Arnold have been dominating football news over the new year.

The England defender has officially entered the final six months of his Reds deal. He is now within his right to sign a pre-contract with any foreign club ahead of a move in the summer on a free transfer.

TBR Football confirmed on New Year’s Eve that Real Madrid have offered to sign Alexander-Arnold in the January transfer window, meaning that they would pay a transfer fee for him.

But, the Premier League leaders rejected the advances from the Santiago Bernabeu, and they are determined to keep hold of the 26-year-old at least until the end of this season.

How Trent Alexander-Arnold has behaved at Liverpool amid Real Madrid interest

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world.

The Galacticos are among a select few teams on the planet who have the ability to turn a player’s head if they are interested in signing him.

It has been no secret that Real Madrid have been interested in Alexander-Arnold – that has been common knowledge for quite some time now.

That must be on the Liverpool star’s mind – irrespective of whether he wants to move to Madrid or stay at Liverpool and extend his contract there.

However, despite that, Alexander-Arnold is said to have been brilliant behind the scenes at Liverpool and has caused no problems at all.

That’s according to David Ornstein, who told NBC Sports: “I’m told he has behaved impeccably on and off the pitch. Exemplary!

“Focused fully on succeeding with Liverpool, whatever happens in this saga.”

How much money are Real Madrid ready to offer Liverpool for Trent Alexander Arnold in January?

Liverpool dismissed Real Madrid’s approach for Alexander-Arnold before the Galacticos could even talk about the transfer fee.

The Reds have absolutely no interest in letting their right-back leave in the winter window – even if it means that they will lose him for nothing in the summer.

Real Madrid, as a sign of respect, are prepared to pay a fee for Alexander-Arnold, and it has now been revealed how much.

The Telegraph claim that Florentino Perez is ready to pay £20 million for the Liverpool right-back in this month’s transfer window.

Football is a funny game and anything can happen, but the most likely scenario at this stage appears to be Alexander-Arnold moving to Real Madrid for nothing next summer.
