'Incredible' - Kris Boyd savages Rangers man as post-match footage emerged recently

Kris Boyd has slammed Philippe Clement for his Rangers stint and believes that there is no progression at Ibrox.

He’s also been critical of the Belgian claiming that Hibs undeservedly received a penalty on 29 September, with footage emerging from the press conference. [PLZ Soccer]

Gers currently sit in third place, losing one and drawing one of their six league games thus far.

Boyd told the Scottish Sun [4 October]: “What was Clement doing trying to claim John Souttar’s handball wasn’t a penalty against Hibs? It’s as clear a penalty as you’ll see.

“It was incredible to try and put forward a case to say that’s not a spot-kick. He was even jumping around at his post-match press conference.

“There are too many excuses coming from Clement at the moment. And I reckon a lot of them are pre-empted.

“I don’t remember Giovanni van Bronckhorst moaning about things when Rangers were reaching a European final two and a half years ago.

“I just don’t see any progression.”

Rangers fans are unlikely to be impressed with Philippe Clement making these excuses

Clement’s tenure at Ibrox has stirred discontent among fans, primarily due to his post-match excuses and the team’s inconsistent results.

The incident involving the Hibs penalty, where the Belgian contested a clear decision, exemplifies a pattern of deflecting responsibility rather than addressing the team’s on-pitch issues head on.

This approach, coupled with the club’s embarrassing league position and performances, has eroded fan confidence.

Supporters expect the manager to not only lead the team to victories but also to take accountability for shortcomings.

By making excuses, Clement is failing to win over an already sceptical fanbase, who demand tangible progress and improvement in play.

His comments and the team’s results suggest a lack of strategic evolution, which is crucial for regaining trust and he could be sacked if things don’t improve.

Until there’s a noticeable uptick in performance and results, Clement’s excuses will continue to frustrate rather than appease the Ibrox faithful.
