John Wenham has shared an injury admission on Dominic Solanke ahead of Tottenham facing Everton on Saturday (24 August).
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the 26-year-old will score goals under Ange Postecoglou.
As reported by Last Word On Spurs via X (23 August), Solanke did not train at Hotspur Way on Thursday (22 August) amid fears that the player had sustained an injury.
Ange Postecogloou has since confirmed that the striker will not be available for the clash with Everton (via Football London, 23 August).
However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is still hopeful that the striker will be a long-term success in North London.
“In recent years it tends to be three points at home for Tottenham against Everton,” Wenham said.
“Therefore, that has to be the same again on Saturday. I’ve heard some rumours that he missed training on Thursday.
“I think for his own confidence, he really needs to get off the mark in a Spurs shirt. After seeing the positions he took up at Leicester, it proved to me that he will score goals in this system.”
Dominic Solanke to miss out against Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Solanke did not miss a single Premier League game last season due to injury.
Therefore, with the Englishman unavailable due to an injury issue just two matches into his Spurs career, supporters would be justified to feel as though the club is well and truly cursed.
Hopefully from Tottenham’s point of view, the injury issue is not a long-term one.
However, if it is, it will offer Richarlison a golden opportunity to work his way back into Postecoglou’s plans.
In other Tottenham news, the club could yet sign another striker after the arrival of Solanke.
