Jack Grealish sends 'strong' message to Man City fans after surprise twist

Man City star Jack Grealish took to social media to send fans a message following their frustrating 0-0 Champions League draw with Inter Milan.

The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes in City’s Champions League opener, ending the game with an impressive 88 per cent pass success rate and four chances created.

City were unable to break down a stubborn Inter defence, however, and Pep Guardiola’s side now sit in 20th in the competition’s new league format.

Veteran midfielder Ilkay Gundogan had two good opportunities to earn all three points but could only direct his first header into the grateful hands of Yann Sommer, and fired his second well over the crossbar.

Their draw against the Italians marks the first time Man City have failed to win this season as they sit at the summit of the Premier League table with a 100 per cent record.

The England international has had somewhat of a resurgence of late, starting three of City’s opening six games across all competitions.

He has also impressed on the international stage, playing a pivotal role for interim manager Lee Carsley in England’s two UEFA Nations League victories over the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Grealish took to Instagram to thank the fans for their support in what proved to be a tricky game against the Italian champions.

It won’t be getting any easier for Grealish and City as they prepare to face Arsenal in what could be an early title decider on Sunday (September 22).

The reigning champions look set to be without star man Kevin de Bruyne for the Arsenal game after the Belgian was forced off at half-time against Inter.
