'Jackpot' - Pundit shares if Rangers have 'Contingency Plan' to combat Celtic financial gulf

Barry Ferguson claims that Rangers have a contingency plan in place to combat the financial gulf between themselves and Celtic.

The Hoops will surely be playing Champions League football next season while Gers will have to go through the qualifiers.

James Bisgrove has also left the club for Saudi Arabia which could scupper their plans this summer.

Ferguson wrote in the Daily Record on 7 June: “There will be a contingency plan already drawn up for how to go about bridging the financial gap in the event that Rangers have to settle for the Europa League instead.

“But it would make life a lot easier for all concerned if Clement can find a way of making it through into the big one and that will be the only aim right now.

“That’s why Bennett will have his work cut out in trying to get the new recruits into the building as quickly as possible and, to his credit, three deals have been completed already with Leon Balogun signing a new one year deal, Oscar Cortes penning a new loan with an obligation to buy and Brazilian left back Jefte sorted out.”

Rangers have to beat Celtic in the transfer market to win the league next season

Gers face a significant challenge in competing with Celtic in the transfer market to win the league next season.

Celtic’s financial advantage, bolstered by Champions League revenue, puts their rivals at a disadvantage.

The departure of Bisgrove to Saudi Arabia further complicates Rangers’ plans, potentially impacting their ability to attract top talent.

Their recent signings, such as Leon Balogun, Oscar Cortes, and Jefte, demonstrate their proactive approach to strengthening the squad and hopefully, it will continue this summer.

However, to truly compete with Celtic, Gers need to not only match but exceed their rivals’ transfer activities.

This means identifying and securing high-quality players who can significantly enhance their squad’s performance.

Failure to do so could result in another season of Celtic dominance, making it crucial for the Ibrox outfit to be strategic and efficient in their transfer dealings.

In other Rangers news, a Premier League midfielder with “great quality” is now up for grabs this summer amid a recent development with a move to Ibrox on the cards.
