Jamie O'Hara reacts to Everton star development after what he did

Jamie O’Hara has called for Everton star Jordan Pickford to be knighted after his recent England performances.

The Toffees star recently broke the record for most appearances in major tournaments for the Three Lions as a goalkeeper and celebrated by saving a penalty in the shootout win over Switzerland to help his nation to a third semi-final in four tournaments.

Reacting to the save, O’Hara took to his personal X account (7 July) to call for the Everton star to receive individual praise.

“Just putting it out there… Sir Jordan Pickford,” he wrote.

For several years fans and pundits have criticised Pickford for being eccentric or unreliable, and Everton fans have stood behind him and backed him the whole time.

He has regularly been one of the best performers in the Premier League and also for England, so the constant talk about him losing his place in the national team’s number-one jersey was odd.

But once again he has proven himself to be the rightful owner of the shirt and his performances have helped the country reach the latter stages despite some poor performances on the pitch.

It’s been a long time coming for Pickford to get individual praise and be singled out for his role in the recent success of the national team, so it’s great to see.

Everton are lucky to have him as part of the squad after so long because he could easily be playing in the Champions League somewhere else. He has stayed committed, however, despite rough times, and has earned legendary status for both club and country now.
