Jeff Stelling sends warning to Liverpool chiefs with 'ridiculous' Mohamed Salah claim
Jeff Stelling has warned the hierarchy at Liverpool that they may be headed in the "wrong direction" regarding Mohamed Salah.
The hierarchy at Liverpool have a huge decision to make over the future of Mohamed Salah.
The 32-year-old winger has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield and could leave next summer as a free agent if a new deal is not agreed.
If there were any concerns about Mohamed Salah‘s ability in his later years, he has answered his critics in emphatic style at the start of the new season.
The Egyptian star has scored in each of Liverpool‘s three Premier League games, including their third goal against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Following Liverpool’s win at Old Trafford, Salah stated it was his “last year” at the club, suggesting no progress has been made over his contract situation.

Liverpool chiefs sent warning over Mo Salah
Arne Slot has made a superb start to life at Anfield, but Liverpool’s biggest issues at the moment aren’t on the pitch, they’re off it.
Salah is not the only star with an expiring contract – Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also in the final year of their deals and could leave for free.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Jeff Stelling warned Liverpool chiefs that they are making a mistake if they let Salah leave next summer.
“I don’t think you can let him leave your club. I think if they are looking in a different direction they are looking in the wrong direction,” Stelling said.
“Because Mo is the ultimate professional, he never lets you down. He turns up in the big games – just look at his record against Manchester United home and away.
“Ridiculous is exactly the word. He is ridiculously good and if they can afford to let him go, or sell him, I’d love to know who they can replace him with.”
Liverpool must tie Mo Salah down to a new contract
Salah proved just how invaluable he is on Sunday afternoon with yet another phenomenal performance against Manchester United.

Ultimately, he is impossible to replace. Liverpool have signed Federico Chiesa in a £11m bargain deal this summer to be his long-term heir, but the Reds need to keep hold of Salah for a few more years.
He is helping to settle Slot into the job and looks as though he is in the best shape of his career. Losing Salah next summer would be nothing short of a disaster.
