John Wenham: Ange has 'Serious Issue' with another Tottenham player exit now likely

John Wenham claims Tottenham have a “serious issue” following the announcement that Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegon are to leave the club.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the club will soon need to sign some homegrown players to join Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

It was confirmed via Spurs’ official website earlier this month (5 June) that Tanganga and Sessegnon are among several players who will leave the club following the conclusion of their contracts.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that leaves Spurs with an issue which needs to be addressed.

“Tottenham have a serious issue with the lack of homegrown players in the squad,” Wenham said.

“I’m not sure what the club’s plan is in that regard.

“Tanganga and Sessegnon have been released, and with Djed Spence likely to leave, Spurs therefore need to make some changes to their squad.

“The club are going to need to bring some homegrown options in.”

Tottenham need to add homegrown players to Ange Postecoglou’s squad

Tanganga and Sessegnon aren’t the only homegrown players set to leave North London.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (7 June) Spurs and Geona are in advanced talks over the transfer of Spence.

This is another homegrown player who looks likely to say goodbye to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

As per the Premier League’s official website (8 June), each squad in the competition can contain no more than 17 non-homegrown players.

As a result, Tottenham need to bring in some more homegrown options to fill out their squad ahead of next season.
