Kasper Schmeichel shares Celtic training ground message pre-Rangers

Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has taken to social media to share a training ground update ahead of their derby with rivals Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday (December 15).

Brendan Rodgers’ side will travel to Hampden Park and square off with the current Scottish League Cup holders for the first piece of silverware this season.

Celtic dismantled Aberdeen 6-0 to earn their place in the final, while Rangers came from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1.

Schmeichel, 38, has been central to everything Celtic have done since joining in the summer, playing every minute of the club’s 24 games across all competitions so far this season, conceding 17 goals, and keeping 15 clean sheets in 2160 minutes of action.

The current Scottish Premier League holders are well on their way to a fourth consecutive league title, leading second-placed Aberdeen by nine points after 15 games with 43.

The Denmark international took to Instagram ahead of the game with Rangers to share an image of himself looking determined.

Celtic’s attention will return to the Scottish Premier League after the game with Rangers as they prepare for a trip to Dundee United next Sunday (December 22).

Rodgers’ side are also impressing in the Champions League, sitting above the likes of Man City and PSG in 22nd in the new Champions League league phase.
