Keith Jackson says some Rangers shareholders may be more tempted to sell up now

Keith Jackson has shared a feeling that some Rangers shareholders may be more inclined to sell their stakes at Ibrox.

After the sudden resignation of chairman John Bennett [The Athletic, 14 September], things are once again up in the air at the club.

Jackson believes that potential investors could be looking at a cheaper deal to invest or take over the club than they would have done previously but would need people more inclined to sell up.

Speaking on the Daily Record’s Hotline Live (17 September), Jackson shared what he knows about the current situation at Ibrox.

“I think what you need is people that are prepared to sell their shares,” he said.

“The feeling that I get from Ibrox and around the place just now is that guys who might have been determined to hold onto their shares might now be more inclined to think ‘if I could get rid of this and get rid of my debt’ they might be more inclined to do a deal.

“It might be a lot easier now to do a deal for Rangers than it would have been previously and it might also be a lot cheaper than it would have been.”

New Rangers investment on cards at Ibrox?

After another disappointing transfer window, Rangers fans didn’t go into the season expecting much from their team.

While the Gers haven’t made a complete mockery of themselves, the fact that the club are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, says a lot.

Many names have been rumoured to be interested in the Rangers chairman role but the one that stands out the most is Dave King.

The businessman admitted that he would be interested in taking up the role once again [talkSPORT, 16 September], but those hopes have been dashed already [Chris Jack].

While King brought some success during his time at Rangers, times have changed massively.

Although some fans may just see the success and might jump at the chance to welcome him back, those with a level head will know that’s not a smart move.

There’s still time for the club to find a new chairman but, with new investment also on the cards, there are plenty of twists along the way.

In other Rangers news, Hamza Igamane’s value has been predicted to treble after recent transfer developments.
