Bryan King believes Manor Solomon’s long-term future lies away from Tottenham.
The ex-Spurs scout can’t see the forward working his way into Ange Postecoglou’s first-team plans in North London.
It comes as Solomon nears a season-long loan move to Leeds United. As reported by reliable Spurs insider Paul O Keefe via X (25 August), the 25-year-old’s camp has insisted that everything is going to plan regarding the winger’s temporary switch to Elland Road.
And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that this move will offer Solomon a good opportunity to showcase what he can do.
“For somebody who has been injured as much as he has, this looks to be a good move for him,” King said.
“He needs to get back to playing regular football. However, I cannot see him displacing any of the current starters at Tottenham.
“Football is all about playing, and if he is going to be playing every week with Leeds it will allow Tottenham to look at him. In addition, this is a good showground for him for any interested clubs.
“It looks as if his permanent future beyond this season lies away from Tottenham.”
Manor Solomon to quit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
It looks almost certain that Solomon will be playing his football with Leeds United this season. As a result, it isn’t hard to imagine that the player’s permanent future might also lie away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Since joining Spurs the forward has hardly had a chance to showcase what he can do due to a long-term injury keeping him out for the majority of last season.
He hardly featured on Spurs’ pre-season tour either. Therefore, it is fair to assume that he doesn’t have much of a future with Tottenham.
Considering the number of attackers the club have on their books, as well as exciting young players like Mikey Moore coming through, competition for places looks intense at Spurs.
As a result, Solomon will hope to enjoy a positive loan spell with Leeds as he looks to secure a potential permanent exit.
