Bryan King has urged Tottenham to target big-name signing this summer.
The ex-Spurs scout believes a high-profile midfielder and centre-forward should both be on the shopping list in North London.
It comes after the club announced via their official website on Tuesday (2 July) the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds United.
And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims more needs to be done in the transfer window.
“Gray is an exciting signing and one for the future,” King said.
“However, Spurs still need a big-name ball-winner in midfield and an established centre-forward.
“That is going to cost real money, filling those positions. However, those players need to be found and they have got to be brought into the club.
“If Spurs are going to challenge for anything, that is what Ange Postecoglou will need and want.”

Gray is a player full of potential and can no doubt become a star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, with prices continuing to rise in North London, supporters will be desperate to see their money reinvested in high-profile, big-money signings.
Investing in young, talented players isn’t a bad thing by any means, but that should go alongside the signings of some established players.
Spurs already have a lot of talented young players on their books, what fans will now want to see is genuine world-class options added to Postecoglou’s squad.
And Daniel Levy must ensure he works hard to do just that over the next couple of months.
