King shares Sean Dyche exit verdict after transfer announcement at Goodison Park

Bryan King is surprised that Sean Dyche has not extended his stay with Everton at Goodison Park.

The ex-Goodison scout believes if players are going to be signed then the club need to commit to a long-term manager.

It comes after Everton announced via their official website (22 June) that they had signed Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.

The club have also announced (24 June) the re-signing of Jack Harrison on a season-long loan from Leeds United. In addition, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (25 June), the club have agreed on a deal to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Olympique Marseille.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has questioned who the Iroegbunam transfer was down to.

“Aston Villa obviously didn’t think he was right for the club,” King said.

“But Everton are not in the UEFA Champions League, they have been competing toward the bottom of the Premier League.

“I am curious as to who signed this player. Was it Dyche’s decision or someone else’s? If the club are bringing in players, then I would have thought Dyche would have signed an extension.

“Perhaps Dan Friedkin already has a manager lined up who fancied Iroegbunam and some of these other players.”

Everton need long-term stability at Goodison Park once the Friedkin Group arrive

It has been a hectic few years for the Toffees.

Should the Friedkin Group complete a takeover of the club then supporters will hope to finally see some stability at Goodison Pak.

As a result, a long-term decision needs to be made on who will be the club’s manager.

The Toffees have been busy in the transfer market recently, and it would be interesting to see how much influence Dyche has had over these decisions.

In other Everton news, Manchester United will not pay more than £50million to sign Jarrad Branthwaite.
