Bryan King believes Tottenham are getting the best of both worlds as they prepare to send Bryan Gil on loan to Girona for the new season.
It comes after Fabrizio Romano reported on 27 July that the Spanish attacker will extend his contract before heading out on loan to La Liga.
With a £12.6million release clause inserted into the new contract too, Girona are said to have priority over that clause once the loan is finished.
The ex-Spurs scout admitted it is a chance for Gil to revive his career while Tottenham will not miss out on a solid fee at the end of it all.
“I think Tottenham are covering every angle here,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“Obviously, Gil isn’t going to be a regular with Ange Postecoglou. Therefore, it seems like Gil and his agents have got a decent deal here.
“There is a new contract, a buy-out clause, it is a good deal for Tottenham and Gil.
“He will be a regular starter for Girona, but he wouldn’t have been for Spurs. Going to a Champions League club too, Girona have been the surprise package in Spain.
“It is a stepping stone and a chance maybe for Gil to resurrect his career. Spurs have got the best of both worlds here.
“They’ve signed Gil up to a new contract and they won’t lose out on that, it is a good bit of business.”

With big money already spent this summer on the likes of Archie Gray, Levy will always be looking for ways to equal that out eventually.
Although this deal for Gil doesn’t hand the club immediate funds, it guarantees them further down the line, something that may not have been the case without it.
