Leeds fans suggest Illan Meslier offer to be accepted after damaging update

Leeds United fans think that Illan Meslier’s time is up at Elland Road as they have urged the club to consider selling him in the upcoming transfer window.

The 24-year-old has played for the Yorkshire giants since 2020, being the regular first-choice goalkeeper for the club throughout that time.

Meslier has played every minute of Leeds’ Championship campaign this season, keeping 11 clean sheets while conceding 15 goals.

However, a damning stat has revealed that Meslier has been the third worst goalkeeper in the world since the 2019-20 campaign with all the data being collated.

Meslier has the third worst post-shot expected goals minus the number of goals conceded record, which is problematic for the Whites.

The shot-stopper is under contract at Elland Road until 2026, but fans are keen for the club to consider cutting ties with him before that point.

Fans labelled Meslier a “donkey” for the performances he has displayed throughout his time at the club while they claimed he is “awful at almost everything” he has to do in the game.

I've defended meslier because he is young, and seems a decent guy.
But looking at those stats, and what other GKs are doing, that's the difference between going up and not.
