Everton are having a tough season so far and find themselves sitting just three points above the relation zone.
This has led to plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Sean Dyche at Goodison Park as the Blues look to secure their spot in the top tier of English football.
It has been a bleak few years for the Toffees who have found themselves pulled into relegation battles too many times, with a lack of ambition looking further up the table from Farhad Moshiri.
However, since the Friedkin Group announced their intentions of a takeover in Merseyside, this has provided some hope looking forward to the future.
Nevertheless, this has felt like a drawn-out process for the Blues fans and they will no doubt be ready to get excited as completion edges closer.
Journalist Paul Brown provided a positive update as he wrote on X: “Multiple sources now claiming Everton takeover by Friedkin group is a done deal. And Genoa today announcing new ownership. No objection yet raised by Leadenhall in US Court to either transaction. Definitely something going on in A-CAP/777 world.”
Friedkin Group era set to get underway at Everton
This news from Brown is positive for Blues fans and with it looking as though a confirmation is not far off, there will no doubt be many sighs of relief coming out of Merseyside.
While things should start looking up at Goodison under the new ownership, there is some key work to be done first and foremost. This will include TFG making immediate decisions over the future of Dyche at the club, who a successor will be if necessary and how the club will operate in the January transfer window.
However, if things are done well, the Blues could soon find themselves pulling away from the relegation battle at the bottom of the Premier League and starting to look forwards after they secure survival in the top flight this term.
If everything goes well, the club can soon be looking towards life in a new stadium, with new direction which surely gives plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
In other Everton news, one journalist says Sean Dyche’s side want a Premier League striker who is available for a January loan.
