Leeds United fans have taken to social media to air their bemusement at a reported £20m price tag set by the club on Archie Gray.

As reported by MOT Leeds News via The Sun on Sunday [23 June], UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund were put off in their approach to sign 18-year-old Gray from Leeds after the club quoted a fee of £20m.

Tottenham Hotspur also have a “concrete” interest in Gray, with Football Insider reporting [24 June] that the England U21 man is on the club’s radar.

While some quarters feel the sum is too hefty for a teenage starlet with one year of senior experience under his belt, fans at Elland Road feel the opposite, and are incensed at the thought of a prized young player leaving for such a fee.

Leeds’ recently announced lucrative partnership with Red Bull does ease financial constraints at the club to an extent, which as ex-Whites ‘keeper Paul Robinson exclusively told Football Insider on 9 June, may allow the hierarchy to keep Gray in West Yorkshire for longer.

Leeds United supporters have made their feelings known online regarding the reports – as well as links from earlier this summer – as they imply Gray is worth far more than £20m to their club and that the board simply cannot part with the England youth international.

In other news, Leeds United fans have given their reactions to a potential move for Callum O’Hare.
