Liverpool have an abundance of talent in their ranks right now and it’s easy to look at their squad and say a good few are world-class.
Everyone knows Mo Salah is in that bracket and he’s proven year on year just how good he is.
Likewise, Virgil van Dijk is one of the world’s best central defenders and has been for some time, and again, is very much in the world-class category.
Beyond those two, though, opposition fans are often quick to debate if the likes of Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson Becker are in that bracket.
Of course, you can make a case either way if you try hard enough but one of those players, Alexander-Arnold, is firmly in the world-class group, according to one pundit.
Jody Morris explains why Trent Alexander-Arnold is ‘world-class’
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Morris suggested that Trent is the best option at right-back and believes that opposition teams know it as well.
Morris, a former player and coach, has suggested the level which Trent has dominated at shows how good he is.
“He is a world-class player on the ball, isn’t he? You can always look at him defensively where you say if you play against better opposition, would another manager maybe look at a Kyle Walker?,” Morris said.
“But I think 95% of the teams that you are going to come up against, think Trent Alexander is a world-class footballer and, let’s get it right, has played in the toughest competition in the Champions League and won it and dictated.”
Trent is right up there
The debate on Trent Alexander-Arnold will rumble on until he retires but at the end of the day, he is a top operator.
You don’t play for Liverpool and England as consistently as he does without having something about you and Liverpool are lucky to have such a player.
Paul Merson has suggested Trent is right up there with Kevin de Bruyne, while Real Madrid having eyes on Alexander-Arnold also suggests he’s not doing too badly.
Trent is indeed world-class as Morris says here and those who don’t consider him to be either don’t watch him enough, or have a grudge.
