Ange Postecoglou is not in sack danger at Tottenham despite growing fan frustration after the 2-1 defeat against Ipswich on Sunday (10 November), sources have told Football Insider.
The Australian has plenty of credit in the bank with club chiefs after his first season in charge at Spurs, which saw the club finish fifth.
Tottenham’s performance was roundly booed after the full-time whistle at home on Sunday with Ipswich taking maximum points for the first time this season.
Crystal Palace also got their first and only win against Spurs but sources say the Lilywhites’ inconsistency is not leading to any panic about Postecoglou’s future in the boardroom.
Tottenham have picked up positive results against Aston Villa and Man United and dispatched Man City in the League Cup last week.
Postecoglou is as frustrated as anyone about the club’s recent form, insisting the inconsistency is “down to me”.
Postecoglou still has support at Tottenham despite fan boos
He said: “It’s something I need to address. I’m the person in charge so that’s usually the way it goes.”
The 59-year-old is under contract at Spurs until June 2027 after joining from Celtic last year.
Tottenham sit 10th in the table after five losses, five wins and one draw in their first 11 Premier League games this term.
They return to action against second-place Man City after the international break (23 November).
Spurs are going well in the Europa League despite losing away at Galatasaray last week.
Postecoglou’s side are seventh in the league phase ahead of games against Roma, Rangers, Hoffenheim and Elfsborg.
