Lilywhite Rose: Tottenham takeover 'more likely' after August business announcement

John Wenham claims a full Tottenham takeover is now more likely after an official club announcement.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the club has become a more attractive proposition for potential investors.

It comes after Spurs confirmed via their official website (2 August) that they have received planning permission to host up to 30 non-football events per year at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims this is a huge boost for the club for several reasons.

“This makes the club a more attractive proposition for potential investors,” Wenham said.

“Somebody would be buying the club knowing that they can host all of these events at the stadium. Therefore, for the current owners, it brings in more money and for a potential buyer, it makes a takeover more likely.

“It is like having a house with planning permission to build on the site next to it. Therefore, all-in-all this is good news for the club and the local area, as it will boost the economy.”

Tottenham takeover on the cards in North London?

There is no denying that Daniel Levy has taken Tottenham to brand-new levels commercially in recent years.

As a result of the club moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they have been handed plenty of new ways to boost revenue and generate cash in North London.

Therefore, the value of the club will have no doubt increased. However, so has the earning potential.

If any investors are looking for an exciting club in the Premier League to purchase, they don’t need to look much further than Spurs.

Supporters have been frustrated with the club’s current ownership for years and would therefore likely welcome a full takeover at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
